4 Parts Guitar
The Subscription Rooms is a handsome late Regency building in the heart of Stroud and hosts year-round arts and entertainment, exhibitions, markets and meetings.

Built in 1833 by public subscription, the venue still plays an important part in community events. It is now owned and managed by Stroud District Council.

The Ballroom seats up to 400 people and presents all kinds of popular and classical concerts and occasional theatre performances. The sprung dance floor makes it a popular venue for dances and dance classes. The George Room on the ground floor hosts regular exhibitions where you can see some of the wealth of local artistic talent. On the forecourt you can find regular street entertainment, markets and gatherings

The Subscription Rooms also hosts Stroud District Council’s Tourist Information Centre where you can purchase tickets for events at the Subscription Rooms and throughout the district.

4 Parts Guitar are Raymond Burley, John Etheridge, Gordon Giltrap and Clive Carroll.

Soft Machine guitarist John Etheridge partnered the legendary Stephane Grappelli for many years and tours as a duo with the world's greatest classical guitarist, John Williams.

Best known for his hit singles Heartsong and Fear of the Dark in the late 1970s, Gordon Giltrap has gone on to become one of the UK's premier acoustic guitarists, working with amongst others, Martin Taylor and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Clive Carroll began his career touring with guitar maestro and mentor John Renbourn before teaming up with Australian superstar Tommy Emmanuel, whilst Raymond Burley has performed with many of the UK's most prestigious orchestras and conducts classical masterclasses around the world.
